Rating: Better
8mm Cable has very small area on which dust and debris can settle.
Shuttle “sweeps” the cable each time it passes over
the cable. Not susceptible to hangups caused by dust-debris. |

Rating: Best
Enclosed Track completely eliminates dust and debris build-up providing
a maintenance-free system even in dusty and dirty environments. |

Rating:
Acceptable
Dust and Debris Build-Up (Interior Systems) - With old-style trolley
beams, the horizontal flanges of the I-beam gather dust and debris
which can cause the trolley to drag behind the user causing a dangerous
situation known as a Swing Fall. It is not uncommon for old-style
beam trolleys in grain facilities to trail behind the user 10' or
more due to the friction caused by grain dust and other debris on
the beam. This condition results in high maintenance costs as a
result of the requirement to clean the beams in order to provide
a safe work environment. If your environment is dusty or dirty,
consider the Flexible Lifeline or FlexRail Systems. |

Shuttle “sweeps” the cable each time it passes over

A simple quick tug of the lifeline quickly snaps of any ice build-up
resulting in a user-friendly system in inclement weather when fall
protection is needed most. |

a worry-free system even in inclement weather environments. |
|
Rating: Poor
Old-style trolley beams, when installed outside in colder climates,
are subject to ice and snow build-up on the flanges of the beam.
This can cause the trolley to drag behind the user causing a dangerous
situation known as a Swing Fall. In some cases, the trolley gets
stuck completely and can cause the user to fall when off his feet
when the retractable pays out completely. Competitors claims of
“ice-breakers” on beam trolleys are a dangerous misrepresentation
and encourage unsafe use of the system. Does the user not have enough
to do without having to worry about breaking the ice on his fall
protection system first. Furthermore, since the trolley is overhead,
where is the ice going to fall? On the users head! During the most
critical time of inclement weather, the old-style trolley beam system
may not even work! If the system is exposed to inclement weather
conditions, consider the Flexible Lifeline or FlexRail Systems. |

Since each user is on his own system, Flexible Lifeline Systems
economically provide the users the ability to bypass each other
resulting in increased production and lower overall costs over time.

|
Rating: Not
Available
Old-Style Trolley Beams with their single beam do not allow the
users to bypass each other resulting in decreased productivity,
higher costs over the lifetime of the system and decreased safety.
When users must pass each other, rather than climb down the railcar
and swap retractables, the users have a tendency to unhook while
on top of the railcar and swap trolleys resulting in the potential
for a double fall. Installing parallel beams is usually not economically
feasible. If bypass is required, consider the Flexible Lifeline
or FlexRail Systems. |

| Durability |
|
|
|
Rating: Excellent
Flexible Lifeline Systems are manufactured from 100% marine grade
stainless steel. The systems boast a life expectancies of 25-30
years. System have been salt-spray tested and tested for the effects
of wind vortex shedding by 3rd party testing facilities, all of
which were passed with flying colors. |
|
|
Rating: Excellent
FlexRail Systems are hot-dipped galvanized resulting in a life expectancy
of up to 20 years before requiring any coating maintenance. The
teflon wheels of the beam trolleys do not damage the galvanized
coating. |

| Reliability |
|
|
Rating: Excellent
Flexible Lifeline Systems are manufactured from highest grade components.
All of the components are batch tested or individually tested to
exacting requirements. Each component is serialized to ensure tractability.
The manufacturing process is certified to ISO standards to ensure
exacting specifications are exceeded. |

FlexRail Railcar Fall Protection System are the most reliable systems
available in the industry today. The enclosed track eliminates dust/debris
and ice/snow build-up resulting in the 100% up-time. |
|
Rating: Acceptable
in Clean Environments. Poor in Dusty/dirty Environments.
Old-Style Trolley Beam systems are subject to dust/debris and ice/snow
build-up on the flanges of the beams reducing the performance of
the beam trolley and creating potentially hazardous conditions,
especially when you need it most. |

|
|
Rating: Excellent
With excellent span capabilities, the number of supports is reduced
resulting in lower costs. Flexible Lifeline Systems are the most
economical fall protection systems in use today. This coupled with
the increased productivity obtained using the bypass system adds
long term value to your production process. |

Depending on the application, trolley beam systems may be most suitable.
Particularly inside where the systems can be easily attached to
existing structural supports. Inexpensive I-beams result in a user-friendly
and economical system. |
